Google Retires Old Analytics Reporting

Google Analytics v4 is no more following the removal of the old version link this week. Webmasters must now get to grips with the new version if they haven’t done so already. The Google Analytics help centre is on hand to deal with any queries following the switchover to make the transition as painless as possible. Although the new version was rolled out over a year ago, many webmasters held out for certain features that were missing from the new version. Google Analytics are reassuring users that they have addressed these issues and insist they have taken on board the concerns of their users.

For those of us who have embraced the changes to Google Analytics over the past year, the new features have been useful and welcome time-savers. The new Google Analytics v5 features include:
• Real-Time Reports allow users to see the immediate effects of ongoing campaigns on site and as they happen.
• Content Experiments allows the user to present different versions of the same page to a select percentage of visitors. This enables the user to determine which page is more successful in driving conversions before making that particular page live to all.
• Multi-Channel Funnels give the user information about full path to conversion over a 30 day period, indicating how sources of traffic to your site led to conversions.
• Social Reports allows the user to get a good picture of the impact of theirsocial marketing activities and how it is affecting business.

• Mobile Reports
let users see the statistics for mobile traffic and how visitors using mobile devices interact with a website. This allows webmasters to determine whether or not they need to redesign their site to accommodate mobile users.
